Leading Specialty Clothing Retailer Chico's Chooses Liquid Machines to Protect Its Intellectual Property and Confidential Information

Software Allows Chico's to Confidently Share Information Across the Organization While Retaining Control Over Who Has Access to Specific Data, No Matter Where It Is Sent or Stored

WALTHAM, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 26, 2007 -- Liquid Machines, Inc., the leader in Enterprise Rights Management (ERM) solutions, today announced that Chico's FAS, Inc. (NYSE: CHS), a specialty retailer of exclusively designed women's clothing, has selected Liquid Machines Document Control™ software to secure and control access to some of its most critical and sensitive company electronic data. Liquid Machines enables Chico's to provide its executives and staff role-based access and usage controls to Chico's intellectual property. Deployment of Liquid Machines to additional business units will continue throughout the next few months as the company expands its digital rights program.

Chico's currently operates more than 800 women's specialty stores across the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico under the trade names "Chico's," "White House|Black Market," "Soma by Chico's" and "Fitigues." Virtually all of the clothing and accessories offered at each of the company's branded stores are designed by the company's in-house product development team, bears each brand's trademark, and is confidential until the time it is publicly made available through its retail stores, on-line store, or mail-order catalogues.

"At Chico's, we are dedicated to protecting critical company information across all of our brands, from our product design, purchasing and sales information to our marketing plans and new product introductions," said Ed Martin, Information Security Manager for Chico's Retail Services, Inc. "Liquid Machines is an important part of our intellectual property protection strategy and program, giving us the confidence we need to share confidential information with authorized associates."

"As businesses become more globally dispersed and companies work even closer with customers, partners and suppliers, there is a greater demand for access to critical company information," said Mike Ruffolo, CEO of Liquid Machines. "Organizations are realizing that as they grant access to this confidential information, they must also find a way to protect it from data loss, theft or modification. Liquid Machines puts the security and control with the data, giving customers such as Chico's the confidence and control needed to share information and create more efficient business processes."

By using Liquid Machines Document Control, Chico's is able to create access protection and usage policies that control who can read, edit or print specific documents. These policies can be applied by either the document author or by the enterprise itself, ensuring that the corporation remains in control of who sees specific data. Liquid Machines' unique approach puts the security with the data itself -- meaning that the security policies and controls remain with the data for its entire life -- as it travels from machine to machine, within and beyond the enterprise -- or if attempts are made to copy or excerpt it.
