BRAWLEY, CA--(Marketwire - November 14, 2008) - Brandt Beef - The True Natural, a single family
owned, premium natural beef producer, will showcase its products and
explain "sustainable eating" at the Grand Tasting event during the San
Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival on Saturday, November 15. The event will be
held from Noon - 4 p.m. at Embarcadero Park North behind Seaport Village,
and will feature San Diego's top chefs, gourmet food companies and more
than 700 wine selections.
"We are very excited to be participating in the San Diego Bay Wine & Food
Festival for the fourth consecutive year," said Tom McAliney, executive
chef of Brandt Beef. "At the Grand Tasting event, I will prepare sampling
portions of Brandt Beef sliders with whipped California blue cheese. Due
to the tremendous response we received last year, I'll also prepare our
Brandt Beef dry-rubbed barbeque brisket, a perennial crowd favorite. We
encourage everyone to visit us at this spectacular event to learn more
about sustainable eating and taste our true natural beef. You'll find us
at the center of the festival grounds with our old-fashioned chuck wagon
and smoke coming off the grill."
The five-day festival, which runs from Wednesday, November 12 - Sunday,
November 16, concludes with the Grand Tasting event. In addition to the
selection of gourmet foods and domestic and international wines, guests
will enjoy live musical performances, art displays, celebrity chef cookbook
signings, and the "Chef of the Fest" culinary competition.
Brandt Beef will also participate in the Reserve & New Release Tasting
event on Friday, November 14 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. on Hornblower's
three-story yacht, the Inspiration. Hosted by food and wine connoisseur
and TV personality Ted Allen, the evening will feature a selection from
more than 150 award-winning winemakers and 15 gourmet food stations. Chef
Tom McAliney will prepare his signature dish of Brandt Beef dry-rubbed
barbeque brisket for guests to sample. The evening will also feature a
silent auction, in which guests will bid on rare vintages and private
dining experiences. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the American
Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) culinary arts scholarship programs.
Also on Friday, November 14 is the AIWF Celebrity Chef Luncheon & Big
Bottle Auction, which will take place from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the San
