Learn Big, Win Big With McGraw-Hill Higher Education's "Going Places with LearnSmart" Sweepstakes

Celebrate the Success of the McGraw-Hill LearnSmart™ Personal Tutor and Enter for a Chance to Win $17,000 in Prizes

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) - The first day of class is often met with a mix of emotions -- from excitement to nervous anticipation and sometimes even fear or dread. This year, McGraw-Hill Higher Education is launching a sweepstakes that will give students a reason to tackle their studies with enthusiasm. Now through September 9, students can enter the "Going Places Sweepstakes" -- a special online promotion that is designed to help them improve their grades and celebrate their achievements by getting away in style. Through the sweepstakes, students can see for themselves how McGraw-Hill LearnSmart -- the company's personalized digital tutor -- gives them an opportunity to boost their grades, study smarter rather than longer, while earning a chance to win several travel prizes including a Spring Break trip for two.

To enter the sweepstakes, students simply go to the McGraw-Hill LearnSmart Sweepstakes website to fill out and submit the online entry form. Though only one entry per student is allowed, students can increase their chances of winning and earn up to 10 additional entries by referring a friend through the "refer-a-friend to the Sweepstakes" form. Prizes include:

  • Grand Prize: Ultimate Spring Break Trip for 2
  • 2nd Place Prizes (5 total): Long Weekend Escape
  • 3rd Place Prizes (10 total): Go Home to Visit Family
  • 4th Place Prizes (100 total): LearnSmart Access Code

The site also includes free trials of LearnSmart -- which is now available to students and parents for purchase directly from the company -- videos of the solution in action and more information about the effectiveness of this game-changing digital tutor.

McGraw-Hill LearnSmart, which has been proven to help students study more efficiently and perform better in class, uses a Netflix-like recommendation engine to tailor studying based on what each student does or doesn't know. The fully digital system acts like a personal tutor, continuously assessing students' knowledge and skills and providing personalized recommendations that help them master basic course concepts and retain their knowledge over time. What does this mean for today's college students? By using LearnSmart, the technology and devices that they use every day will power a personalized studying experience that will give them the information they need to ensure success -- and go further -- in their courses.

"We're excited to offer LearnSmart directly to students and to celebrate the success of this grade-boosting 'academic personal trainer' with the launch the sweepstakes," said Sharon Loeb, vice president, McGraw-Hill Higher Education. "Whether you're a crammer, over-achiever or multi-tasker, LearnSmart is every student's ticket to more confidence, improved grades and continued academic success."

LearnSmart is available for more than 100 best-selling McGraw-Hill college titles, across more than 40 course areas, starting at the affordable price of $24.99 per semester. Students can purchase LearnSmart directly on the newly launched LearnSmart website at, through the McGraw-Hill online store at, at Follett's network of 940 college and university campus stores throughout North America and on Follett's website
