Learn More About SXSW 2012 Filmmaking Events

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Mar 7, 2012) - The South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival (SXSW) is only a few weeks away and Zacuto wants you to know about a couple of events that you won't want to miss. DSLR experts Lan Bui and Vu Bui will be hosting an event revolving around DSLR gear and TC Johnstone and Greg Kwedar are scheduled to host an event about using a behind the scenes web series to promote your film. Johnstone and Kwedar are the producers of Rising From Ashes, the subjects of BTS, a Zacuto web series "documentary about making documentaries."

"We thoroughly enjoyed producing BTS," says Zacuto Director, Steve Weiss. "It was a great experience to see TC and his production team in action and I think it makes for entertaining viewing."

Lan Bui and Vu Bui have traveled around the world shooting on DSLRs for the last three years, starting with the Nikon D90 and quickly moved on to shoot the first US nation-wide TV commercial on the 5D Mark II.

"Last year we showed people what we used to shoot and edit a 5 minute short documentary across two states and 4 locations in 4 days," says Vu Bui. "This year we are going to show people what you can use to shoot a short piece in just a couple of carry-ons and with only two people. Our goal is always to show people that they shouldn't feel they can't deliver great quality without a ton of gear and crew."

The Bui Brothers' DSLR Gear: Film Production in a Carry-On (Or Two) will also last 60 minutes and will take place on Saturday, March 10 at 3:30pm at the Austin Convention Center in Room 15. Johnstone and Kwedar's Make a Webseries and Survive will take place on Tuesday, March 13th at 3:30 pm at the Austin Convention Center, 3rd Floor, Austin Suite.
