LearnLaunch Accelerator Names Seven Edtech Startups to Fall 2015 Accelerator Program


BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Sep 15, 2015) - LearnLaunch Accelerator, a leading education technology startup program, today announced its fourth cohort of seven early-stage education technology companies. LearnLaunch Accelerator selects companies based on their potential to build a footprint in the education sector, as well as their impact on society and the broader learning environment.

The seven companies service the K-12, higher education, early education, and continuing education markets. The companies selected to participate in the Fall 2015 accelerator program:

  • Affordable College  (Atlanta, GA) - A platform that provides community college students a clear path to an affordable bachelor's degree by bringing together community colleges and universities in a "Transfer Student Marketplace."

  • Bab'l Books (Boston, MA) - A platform that uses the power of crowdsourced translations and print-on-demand to make bilingual children's books accessible to anyone, anywhere, in any language.

  • Cashtivity (Melbourne, Australia) - An innovative digital platform for teaching and learning entrepreneurial and 21st-century skills, loved by teachers and students worldwide.

  • Learning Games Studios (Alexandria, VA) - A studio that combines expertise in the learning sciences, instructional design, and game development to create engaging and effective educational games.

  • Menlo Learn (New York, NY) - An intuitive, tech-enabled platform that provides bespoke tutoring and admissions consulting for students globally.

  • Skookii (Temple, AZ) - An engaging payment platform for K-12 schools and parents.

  • TeachersConnect  (Boston, MA) - A mentorship and collaboration network for new K-12 teachers that creates an enduring relationship between teacher prep programs and their new-teacher alumni.

LearnLaunch Accelerator 's intensive accelerator program will provide these edtech startups with seed funding, six months of workspace in its unique and collaborative LearnLaunch Campus located in Boston, strategic guidance on bringing their products to market, and access to a diverse team of over 100 industry-savvy mentors providing continual support. The companies will emerge from the program ready for next stages of funding, deployment, scale and growth. The LearnLaunch Accelerator program will culminate at LearnLaunch's 4th Demo Day on January 20, 2016 when startups will pitch their companies to investors to secure follow-on funding.
