LECG Continues Growth in North America and Europe

Expands Into Italy With Addition of Office in Milan

EMERYVILLE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 19, 2005 -- LECG (NASDAQ: XPRT), a global expert services firm, today announced 13 director-level additions to its expert talent pool, including two internal promotions. New experts include: Greg Harman, James Hass, Kathi Kedrowski, Bill Kerr, Sergio Lamonica, Daniele Loro, Mohan Rao, Daniel Ryan, Shane Shook, Greg Smith, Luigi Tardella, Guido Valentini, and J. Douglas Zona. In addition, LECG opened an office in Milan, Italy, offering global competition policy/antitrust, business valuation, and strategic advisory services.

Expert Hires

Greg Harman, recently promoted to director in the London office, specializes in the areas of regulation, pricing, valuation, business analysis, and economic analysis with experience in the telecommunications, media, electricity, gas, and postal services industries. Prior to LECG, he was a director in the economic consulting division of Deloitte in London. He holds a BSc in management sciences from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

James Hass, a director in Washington, DC, specializes in advising on securities litigation and complex bankruptcies, particularly in the financial services and healthcare industries. Previously, he was an investment banker with Lehman Brothers, where he managed financings for mortgage and project issuers. Mr. Hass also served as a bankruptcy advisor to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Pitzer College, where he is a trustee.

Kathi Kedrowski, a director in Chicago, is involved in both intellectual property dispute and intellectual asset management matters. With 19 years of experience, she has expertise in economic, business, and financial analysis for intellectual property, licensing, and other disputes. Ms. Kedrowski has also provided strategic advisory services on the use of intellectual assets. She was previously a partner with both Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen. Ms. Kedrowski holds a BS in business administration from Loyola University Chicago and is a CPA.

Bill Kerr, a director in the Washington, DC office, has 30 years of experience conducting market and price studies, valuing intellectual property and business assets, and providing economic policy analysis as well as applying economic, statistical and financial analysis to issues in litigation. In litigation, his areas of specialization include commercial damages, intellectual property damages, antitrust and industrial organization matters, and labor economics. Prior to LECG, he was a director with Navigant Consulting. Dr. Kerr has a Ph.D. and an MS in economics from the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at New School University.

Sergio Lamonica, the managing director in Milan, has over 38 years of experience analyzing complex financial and strategic issues impacting shareholder value related to proposed mergers and acquisitions, as well as in post-acquisition disputes and arbitration. He was a partner for 23 years at Arthur Andersen and founded Omniconsult Srl, a firm engaged in strategic and financial advisory services. Mr. Lamonica has an MA in public relations from ISIRP, Rome, and a BS in economics from Naples University.

Daniele Loro, a director in Milan, has over 11 years of experience in strategic advisory services, predominantly in the financial services industry. Mr. Loro was a partner at Deloitte in the financial advisory services practice and at Arthur Andersen, where he led the advisory financial industry practice in Italy. He is a qualified public accountant (CPS), an approved expert of the Milan Court of Justice (CPU), and currently serves as a coordinator of the banks and financial industry analysts team of the Italian Association of Financial Analysts. Mr. Loro holds a BA from the University Bocconi at Milan.

Mohan Rao, a director in Evanston, provides expert services in intellectual property and antitrust matters. He has provided advisory services to high-tech start-ups as well as Fortune 500 companies and has served as an expert in litigation engagements in U.S. courts and in arbitration proceedings. Prior to LECG, he was a vice president with Charles River Associates in Chicago, a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a fellow with the government data center at Harvard University. Dr. Rao has a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado and a BS in engineering from the University of Michigan.

Daniel Ryan, recently promoted to director in the London office, specializes in the areas of valuation and intellectual property. He provides advisory services on a range of financial and commercial issues. Prior to LECG, Mr. Ryan spent 10 years with Arthur Andersen's strategy, finance, and economics group. He is a chartered accountant, a member of the Society of Share and Business Valuers, and has a BA in accountancy and finance from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

Shane Shook, a director in San Francisco, provides electronic discovery expert services and has experience in information security, business technology analysis, transactional systems integrity and continuity, data privacy, and encryption, as well as international experience in banking, software and telecommunications. Prior to joining LECG, he was a director with KPMG where he led its security, privacy, and continuity practice in the Pacific Northwest, served as chief technology officer of AeroBank.com, and was a cryptologic linguist in the United States Air Force.

Greg Smith, a director in Washington, DC, has over 13 years of experience in quantifying commercial damages and valuing business assets, with an emphasis on intellectual property matters. Prior to LECG, he was a director with Navigant Consulting. Mr. Smith is a CPA and a Certified Forensic Financial Analyst. He holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA in economics from the University of Virginia.

Luigi Tardella, a director in Milan, has over 25 years of experience in financial advisory services, mergers and acquisitions advisory, business valuation, strategic business planning, and business due diligence. He was a partner at Arthur Andersen and served as managing partner of its corporate finance practice in Italy. Mr. Tardella has a BS in economics from Perugia University, is a qualified public accountant (CPS), and is an approved expert of the Milan Court of Justice (CPU).

Guido Valentini, a director in Milan, has over 20 years of experience in financial advisory services, mergers and acquisitions advisory, business valuation, strategic business planning, and business due diligence. He was previously a partner in the corporate finance practices at both Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in Italy. Mr. Valentini has a BS in economics from Genoa University and is member of the Italian Association of Financial Analysts (AIAF).

J. Douglas Zona, a director in Emeryville, is an economist with expertise in a broad array of antitrust issues including the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions, bid-rigging, and price fixing as well as regulation and regulatory reform. He has experience applying statistical and econometric methods to issues in the context of litigation and strategic advisory services. Dr. Zona holds a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University, SUNY.
