Legal & General Support Everyman

In a Month Dedicated to Fundraising for Prostate Cancer, Think About How Life Insurance Could Help Financially If Something Happened to You

KINGSWOOD, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 1, 2011) - Only in the face of adversity does a product like life insurance truly resonate. Each year in the UK, around 37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, with one man dying every hour from the disease. Sadly, prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in men after lung cancer, and accounts for around 12% of male deaths from cancer in the UK.1

Legal & General are proud to be supporting the Everyman Appeal, which raises funds for prostate cancer research at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).

Legal & General are donating £10 to Everyman charity for every life insurance, life insurance with critical illness or Over 50s life insurance policy taken out during November. And you get Marks and Spencer vouchers as a thank you too.

Legal & General offer life insurance that includes critical illness cover (at an additional cost). This can leave you to concentrate on getting better, by paying a cash sum if you're diagnosed during the term with one of the specified critical illnesses.

You might think that life insurance is a luxury you can't afford, but you'd be surprised at how cheap it can be: our premiums start from just £6 a month and include terminal illness cover at no extra cost. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

If you became critically ill, it's likely you and your family would suffer financially as well as emotionally. You might have to take a long time off work, and your partner might also have to take time off to care for you.

There are a number of life insurance products on the market, and it can be difficult to decide which is right for you. Our handy guides offer helpful information and our life insurance calculator tool can help you work out how much level term life insurance you might need.

Different types of life insurance cover might be right for you at different life stages. For example, if you're older, you might be interested in over 50s life insurance.
