Legal Professionals Will Benefit From Popular "Crash Course" on Employee Benefits Law on May 15-16

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - March 13, 2014) - American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education (ALI CLE) is pleased to announce its upcoming program, Fundamentals of Employee Benefits Law, that will take place on May 15-16 at the American Law Institute Conference Center in Philadelphia, PA.

For both the new lawyer just beginning in practice and for the general practitioner looking to expand his/her knowledge in the area, this annual course familiarizes professionals with the basic laws and regulations governing employee pension and welfare benefit plans. The faculty will cover the essentials of the typical list of issues that come across an employee benefits attorney's desk, including ERISA, HIPAA, 401(k) plans, COBRA, required minimum distributions, reporting and disclosure, minimum standards of eligibility, and spousal rights. The agenda will also include detailed analysis of plan and plan sponsor requirements under the Affordable Care Act.

This two-day program is notable not only for its comprehensive coverage of the essentials of employee benefits law, but also its unique paradigm of faculty-registrant interaction. As planning chair Pamela D. Perdue, of Summers Compton Wells PC, in St. Louis, Missouri, explains, "Our small and carefully chosen faculty is committed to not only imparting a wealth of information, but doing so in a way that is understandable and at times even enjoyable. You are encouraged to bring those questions you thought too insignificant or obvious to ask as well as those burning real life client scenarios for which you just cannot find a solution."

The esteemed faculty members, hailing from small, mid-size, and international firms, are highly accessible; there will be two lengthy Q&A sessions per day; and multiple networking breaks.

Held in American Law Institute's state-of-the-art Conference Center, Fundamentals of Employee Benefits Law offers more than 14 hours of CLE instruction, including one hour of ethics, and up to 17.75 CPE hours in Business Law. To register or obtain further information, click here.
