Photography News: Leica Announces the S (Typ 007) and S-E (Typ 006) Medium Format DSLRs, M-A (Typ 127) 35mm Film Camera, D-LUX (Typ 109), V-LUX (Typ 114), and X Digital Cameras, as Well as a Variety of Lenses and Accessories

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 16, 2014) -

Leica S (Typ 007) and S-E (Typ 006) Medium Format DSLRs

Leica adds two new cameras to its S line in the S (Typ 007) and the S-E (Typ 006). The S-E is very similar, as far as specs go, to the S (Typ 006), with the addition of an anthracite top cover, and silver-anodized speed dial and hot shoe.

The S (Typ 007) is Leica's most impressive announcement, as it packs the features one might expect in a full-frame DSLR into a medium format camera. It has a 37.5MP CMOS sensor with a new Maestro II processor, Live View with Autofocus, medium format Full HD, and Super 35 Format 4K video with a built-in stereo mic. An expanded sensitivity range of ISO 100-6400 sees a large improvement in low-light capabilities compared to its predecessors. A 3.5 fps frame rate and USB 3.0 connection add to the camera's overall speed, and built-in Wi-Fi and GPS functionality add to its versatility.

M-A (Typ 127) Rangefinder Camera

The M-A is a fully mechanical analog rangefinder 35mm film camera. It requires no battery as it has no meter, and all aspects of photography are user controlled, harking back to the origins of Leica. It is available in both Black or Silver.

It features a DC Vario-Summicron f/1.7-2.8/10.9-34mm ASPH, with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-75mm.
