Leigh Steinberg Expands Sports Agency Through New Partnership

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - December 11, 2014) - Leigh Steinberg, iconic sports agent and founder of Steinberg Sports and Entertainment (SSE), today announced a new investor and partner in Philadelphia-based entrepreneur, Cosmo DeNicola, who will provide capital and business experience to drive the agency's expanding client marketing services.

The partnership will help SSE merge the world of sports, media, entertainment, branding and cause-related marketing, which has been a primary objective of Steinberg's since the company launched in October 2013. Steinberg is one of the most influential figures in professional sports; having represented the first pick in the NFL draft a record eight times, 60 first round picks, 150 pro bowl players and seven NFL Hall of Fame inductees: Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Warren Moon, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Derrick Thomas and Howie Long. Steinberg has also represented numerous all-star NBA and MLB players, as well as Olympic athletes.

"The goals of Steinberg Sports and Entertainment are to change the world through athletes serving as role models and our firm being a steward to bring about innovation in the intersections of sports, technology, health, green alliances, ethics, community and charity," says Steinberg, the real life Jerry Maguire. "Partnering with an innovator like Cosmo, who shares those same goals, helps expand the horizons of these ideals and creates more opportunities for athletes to make a positive imprint on society."

DeNicola is a self-made entrepreneur. He owns and operates Cosmo DeNicola Companies, an ever-growing portfolio of award-winning businesses with involvements in sports, entertainment, healthcare, and technology. Aside from his business acumen, DeNicola brings a wealth of experience in professional sports and entertainment; currently serving as an owner of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul and a Hollywood talent management firm.

"It is no secret that Leigh has a tremendous legacy," said DeNicola. "He has transcended the sports world and is without a doubt one of the best in the business. By combining our passion for sports, charity and business, we are going to do some special things together."

From the beginning of Steinberg's career, it was important that his clients gave back to their communities and demonstrate high moral values. His business relationships are no different. "Throughout my life I have strived to be an innovator, and conduct business with ethics and integrity," said Steinberg. "When I look at Cosmo, I see someone that has applied the same to his personal life and professional career. He is unique in that all of his businesses help people and provide platforms for employees, which is a reflection of the way Cosmo cares for people."

Part of Steinberg's legacy includes his annual Super Bowl party, which continues with an afternoon party on January 31, 2015; the day before Super Bowl XLIX. Steinberg has hosted the mega-event since 1985, and has always taken it upon himself to use the party as a philanthropic vehicle. In 2015, Steinberg plans to expand the party's societal aspect, working in tandem with DeNicola to commemorate members of the NFL community and their humanitarian efforts.
