Leo Burnett Wins Two Grand Prix at Clio Festival

Network Scores 29 Wins, Two Creatives Named to Future Gold | Young Competition

MIAMI, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 12, 2007 -- Global advertising and marketing agency Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide made history tonight by winning two coveted Grand Prix in the Television and Outdoor categories at the Clio Awards. A dual Grand Prix win is extremely rare and this marks the first time an agency has won in these two categories. The TV/Cinema award went to Indesit's Ariston "Underwater World," marking the first time in history an Italian agency has ever won a Grand Clio. The Outdoor prize went to McDonald's "Sundial."

In total, the agency won an impressive 29 Clios from nine offices for major clients including: Becks, Clima Bicycles, Center for Disease Control, Fiat, Heineken, Indesit, I.A.C., McDonald's, Nestle, Nintendo, Salvation Army, Toyota and Wrigley. Additionally, the agency had two creatives named to the Future Gold | Young Competition: Pavel Vrzheshch, a junior art director from Leo Burnett, Kiev, Ukraine and Carlos Murad, another junior art director from Leo Burnett, Bogota, Colombia.

In addition to the Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze Clios, "Underwater World" has been garnering praise from juries everywhere. Ariston has won Gold at every major show in the world in the past year, including: Cannes, Epica, Eurobest, Kinsale Shark Awards, London International Awards, the New York Festivals and the Art Directors Club of Europe. Also, this breakthrough spot has won two Silvers and a Bronze at the ANDYs, Silver at the Art Director's Club of New York and two Silver nominations at D&AD.

Before winning the Grand Clio, Gold and Bronze Clios, "Sundial" picked up two Golds at the Obies, two Golds at the Addys, Silver at the ANDY's, Silver at Art Director's Club of New York and a Silver Pencil Nomination at D&AD.

Other notable Clio winners include I.A.C. "Alzheimer's," which won Gold and Bronze Clios in this competition. The spot is on track to become one of the year's most awarded, having already won Gold at Cannes, Art Directors Club of Europe, El Ojo De Iberoamerica, El Sol, Epica, Eurobest, FIAP and the London International Awards shows.

Clima Bicycles continues its award-winning streak, having recently picked up AdFest's Grand Prix for Best Print Campaign in Asia in 2007; "Barriercycle" also won Gold there in Press and "Railcycle" and "Barriercycle" won Silver in Press and Outdoor Posters, respectively. Clima also received a Silver Pencil nomination at D&AD, Silver at the ANDYs, Bronze at the World Press Awards, two Silver and three Bronze at the Media Spikes, two merit recognitions at Art Directors Club of New York and three merit recognitions at the One Show. During the Clio festival, Clima added four Clios to its impressive haul.

Altoids Sours "Fruit Pants," "Slap" and "Half & Half" have been on a winning streak as well, picking up Silver at the ANDYs, Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Kinsale Shark Awards, Best of Show at the Hugo's, two merit recognitions at the Art Director's Club of New York and three merit recognitions the One Show. The Altoids "Initiation" campaign ("Hairy Chest," "Oh, the Shame" and "First Time") has won Bronze at the ANDYs, four Gold at the Addys, Merit at the Art Directors Club of New York and four merit recognitions at the One Show. In total, the Altoids brand won six Clios at this year's festival.
