Les Cylindres Starcyl Canada Inc. Receives $500,000 in Funding From Government of Canada to Improve Productivity

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 25, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces the awarding of $500,000 in repayable funding to the firm Les Cylindres Starcyl Canada to acquire equipment and thereby improve productivity.

"The Government of Canada is lending its support to Les Cylindres Starcyl Canada for this project because it is a dynamic enterprise that also contributes to the development of the fabricated metals industry in the Laval region," commented Minister Lebel.

Starcyl Canada will, among others, acquire a three-axis milling machine and two five-axis milling centres to produce hydraulic cylinder components. This will allow the Laval firm to increase its production capacity and fabricate its own hydraulic cylinders rather than outsourcing them. As a result, it will have the necessary resources to meet the growing demand for this type of cylinder and increase its market share in this sector, particularly abroad.

This funding has been awarded through the Business and Regional Growth program.
