Les Dauphins Awarded Rhone Valley Winery of the Year and Hires National Sales Manager

Cotes Du Rhone Wine Wins Big in U.S. Market and Supports Rapid Growth

RHONE VALLEY, FRANCE--(Marketwired - September 15, 2015) - Les Dauphins, one of the hottest new Côtes du Rhône wines in the U.S, was named Rhône Valley Winery of the Year at the 2015 New York International Wine Competition. Additionally, the winery has hired a National Sales Manager to support its rapidly expanding U.S. distribution and sales.

Les Dauphins showed well at the 2015 New York International Wine Competition, and was awarded the Rhône Valley Winery of the Year award. The wines, which are approachable expressions of the true Côtes du Rhône, have also received accolades from other publications and competitions across the country. Most notably, the 2013 Les Dauphins Réserve Red Côtes du Rhône received 92 points at the 2015 Ultimate Beverage Challenge and a Gold Medal at TEXSOM 2015.

These numerous awards go hand-in-hand with increasing distribution, and Thibaut Marquis was named National Sales Manager for Les Dauphins in August 2015 to support this growth. Marquis' experience spans the French and American wine industries, including a stint as the National Brand Ambassador for FAIR, a line of French fair trade spirits, and three years as National Marketing and Sales Manager for Pinot Noir producer David Family Wines. Marquis will focus on the expansion of Les Dauphins' distribution network and national sales.

Les Dauphins' success comes at a time when the quality and quantity of Rhône Valley wines coming into the U.S. have increased significantly over the past few years, making it one of the best performing French wine categories in the U.S. The U.S. is the #1 Rhône wine import market by value, and Rhône wine imports have increased in volume by 20% in the last 5 years (Inter-Rhône, Key Figures 2014). Les Dauphins' introduction to the U.S. and subsequent success coincides with this increasing recognition of quality Rhône Valley wines. Aurélien Jousse, Regional Export Director for Les Dauphins, says the brand "has the potential to reach 100,000 cases within a few years as it successfully recruits both Millennials into the Rhône Category as well as seduces traditional Rhône drinkers."

Since Les Dauphins' national introduction to the U.S. in January, distribution has increased to 28 states, with more on the way. The wines are distributed on the East Coast by Monsieur Touton Selection, Ltd. and on the West Coast, in the Midwest and the Gulf states by Plume Ridge Wine Import & Wholesale.

About Les Dauphins
Les Dauphins is a wine made in France's Rhône Valley that draws its inspiration from the joie de vivre mood of Paris in the roaring 1920s, a time when the wines of the Dauphiné region became popular. Several of the winegrower partnerships that currently make up Les Dauphins Winery were also founded in the 1920s. Today these wines are vibrant and versatile, and are created to once again inspire the joy that made 1920s Paris one of the most exciting and creative periods in history. Winemaker Guillaume Valli's passion for Rhône varieties guides his winemaking style, where he lets the grapes and the terroir speak for themselves.
