Less than 24 hours before TUFF launches in TTC subway system

Toronto’s “underground” film festival plays to over 1.3 million daily commuters in TTC subway system

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, City Editor, News Editor, Transportation Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, MEDIA ALERT--(Marketwire - Sept. 9, 2010) - Only 24 hours remain before the launch of the 4th annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF), North America's only true "underground" film festival.

Beginning tomorrow and running until September 19th, 10 TUFF films will be screened every 10 minutes on Onestop Media's TTC network of over 270 digital displays inside the Toronto subway system.

Dedicated screens will play non-stop TUFF throughout the festival at three stations: Bloor (north and southbound platforms), St. Andrew (southbound platform), and Dundas (southbound platform).

The public can also view films and vote for their favourites on the TUFF website at http://www.torontourbanfilmfestival.com . Award winners and audience picks will repeat on the final weekend of the festival.

On Sunday Sept 19th, nineteen local and international Filmmakers will be announced as the 2010 'TUFFY' award recipients at an awards ceremony at the Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West) in the Lounge, at 7:30pm. Media and film enthusiasts are welcome.
