LexisNexis® Receives 2011 Cygnus Law Enforcement Group's Innovation Award

Accurint® Mobile for Law Enforcement Selected as Top Performer in the Software Category

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2011) - LexisNexis® Risk Solutions today announced it is the proud recipient of a 2011 Cygnus Law Enforcement Group's Innovation Award for its Accurint® Mobile for Law Enforcement solution. The Innovation Awards -- awarded on the basis of innovativeness, productivity, quality, contribution, ease of use and maintainability -- recognize cutting-edge new products and services that are advancing the field of law enforcement. The awards were presented at a ceremony held during the 118th International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference.

"Law enforcement agencies face overwhelming pressure to reduce costs and increase efficiencies of their investigations," said Haywood Talcove, CEO, Government, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. "We are proud that our technology is being acknowledged for making a significant difference in not only cutting costs, but more importantly saving lives, and allowing the law enforcement community to be more effective in serving and protecting citizens."

Accurint Mobile was selected as the winner in the Software category, one of 13 categories judged by a panel of veteran law enforcement professionals. An easily downloadable application ('app') for mobile devices, Accurint Mobile connects government and law enforcement agencies to more than 30 billion public records and critical investigative tools needed to verify information in the field, allowing for prompt follow-up on leads as they develop. Accurint Mobile provides the ability to locate people, vehicles and businesses, and identify associations; Accurint Mobile also has the capability to generate comprehensive reports, a feature which was previously only available through a laptop or desktop PC.

"Providing these types of mobile capabilities in the field can mean the difference between life and death," said Thomas Joyce, director, law enforcement strategy, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, and former detective commander for the New York City Police Department. "At LexisNexis, we are constantly at work thinking of new ways to empower our law enforcement personnel to get their jobs done safer, faster and at the lowest cost to the community."
