Liberty Produces First Concentrate From the Redstone Mill

EDMONTON, AB--(Marketwire - July 18, 2007) - Liberty Mines Inc. (TSX-V: LBE) ("Liberty or the Corporation") is pleased to announce that commissioning of the 2,000 tonne per day (currently permitted for 1500 t/d) Redstone Mill ("Mill") has been completed. The state-of-art Mill will process nickel bearing komatiite ores from Liberty's mines in the Shaw Dome nickel belt near Timmins, Ontario.

Both the permitting and the construction of the Redstone Mill have been completed in record time. Construction and commissioning of the Mill was accomplished over a nine-month period beginning in October of 2006. Initially, only one of the three ball mills at the Mill will be used to process stockpiled ore from the Redstone Mine at approximately 500 tonnes per day for about two months. Thereafter, the Redstone Mine will continue to provide the Mill with high grade ore of approximately 200 tonnes per day as the stockpile is depleted. When the McWatters nickel mine (currently in the final stages of permitting) comes on stream with pre-production ore in the fall of 2007, it will provide an additional 300-500 tonnes of ore per day while the ramp at the mine is completed to the 130m level. In the second quarter of 2008, production at McWatters is scheduled to begin from the rich ore in the bottom level of the mine at 1200 tonnes per day, thus enabling the Mill to run close to its permitted capacity. There will be a short period of time this fall when the Mill will operate part time awaiting development of the McWatters Mine as above. This will enable a copper circuit and a platinum/palladium gravity circuit to be easily installed.

The first shipment of nickel in concentrate from the Mill will soon be on its way to China. "This is a milestone in the history of the Corporation. The Redstone Mill is a fundamental part of our strategy to operate independently and efficiently as a Canadian nickel producer," said Liberty's President, Gary Nash. "We assembled the finest team of professionals, many of whom are our employees, together with a few excellent local contractors to design and build the mill. A lot of credit goes to the countless efforts and varied skills by our Mill Manager Jason Cyr and his team of millwrights and electricians, for constructing the Mill to high standards and at an accelerated pace. Our environmental team has also done an outstanding job of enabling the mine and mill to operate in compliance with strict environmental standards," he added.
