Liberty Tax Service Names Vanessa Mercurio Szajnoga General Counsel

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA--(Marketwired - Dec 14, 2015) - Liberty Tax, Inc. (NASDAQ: TAX)

Liberty Tax, Inc., the parent company of JTH Tax, Inc. d/b/a Liberty Tax Service ("Liberty Tax Service"), announced today that Vanessa Mercurio Szajnoga will assume the position of Vice President, Legal of Liberty Tax, Inc. and General Counsel for Liberty Tax Service.

Ms. Szajnoga currently serves as the Assistant Vice President, Legal for Liberty Tax Service, a position she has held since January 2015. She also serves on the American Bar Association, Forum Committee on Franchising, Corporate Counsel Committee.

Ms. Szajnoga began her career at Liberty in 2005, as litigation counsel, representing the Company and managing litigation matters in federal and local courts throughout the United States and Canada. She became the leader of the Transactional Legal Department in 2012. Along with her legal work, Ms. Szajnoga has played a role in the company's Culture Committee, which is tasked with creating a welcoming and nurturing work environment. The committee's work has helped Liberty's corporate office gain recognition in 2014 as one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia.
