Library and Archives Is Pleased to Collaborate With the Ontario Genealogy Society to Present GENE-O-RAMA 2010

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 26, 2010) - Library and Archives Canada is pleased to collaborate with the Ontario Genealogy Society in the presentation of GENE-O-RAMA 2010 to be held on March 26 and 27, 2010 in the Auditorium of Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa.

GENE-O-RAMA 2010 will feature a theme of Researching Female Ancestors and will include lectures from Marthe Séguin-Muntz of the Canadian Genealogy Centre, Lisa Alzo, Lesley Anderson of and Marie Careau of la Société de généalogie de l'Outaouais as well as Doug Hoddinott, John D. Reid and Rick Roberts. Glenn Wright will speak at the banquet on Sex, Lies and Archives: Behind Closed Doors at the Public Archives of Canada, 1900-1950.

Founded in 1961, the OGS' mission is to encourage, bring together and assist those interested in the pursuit of family history. The objectives of the OGS is to promote genealogical research, to set standards for genealogical excellence by encouragement and instruction in effective research methods, to make available to those whose ancestors are from Ontario, the knowledge, diversity and comprehensiveness of the genealogical resources in Ontario and to share expertise in other geographic areas.
