"We are now seeing cyber attacks launched by nation states, terrorists and hacktivists on a regular basis," said Philip Lieberman, President and CEO of Lieberman Software. "The targets of this cyber warfare are often government and military organizations, as well as providers of critical national infrastructure. These are some of the main verticals that our cyber defense platform is designed to defend. So we're pleased to be recognized with a Govies Government Security Award."

Cyber Security for the Government

Last year, US federal government agencies collectively reported 77,183 cyber security incidents.1 Whether it's to steal high value data or to disrupt operations, government agencies are under frequent cyber attack.

Using social engineering, spear phishing and similar exploits attackers easily defeat conventional perimeter security defenses and penetrate government networks. Once inside the perimeter, the intruders look for vulnerable privileged credentials. After stealing these credentials, they can move laterally throughout the IT environment and anonymously extract valuable data.

Lieberman Software's privileged access management platform contains cyber attacks that penetrate the perimeter. It automatically discovers privileged identities in the enterprise - on-premises, in the cloud and in hybrid environments. It then brings those accounts under management, and audits access to them.

It ensures that each privileged credential is changed as frequently as necessary. Even if an intruder compromises a credential, it has a limited lifetime and is not shared among multiple systems. The stolen credential cannot be leveraged to leapfrog between systems. The cyber attack is blocked in place.

By providing the accountability of showing who on the IT staff had access to systems with sensitive data, Lieberman Software also helps government agencies verify their compliance with regulatory mandates such as CAG, FISMA/NIST, FIPS, NERC and others.
