Lieutenant Governor Presents Newfoundland and Labrador Employers With Awards for Supporting Reservists

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - March 11, 2011) - The Honourable John C. Crosbie, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, presented Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) awards to thirteen provincial employers and educational institutions on March 9, 2011, to recognize their support to Canadian Forces Reserve personnel.

The recipients of the 2011 CFLC Employer Support Awards for Newfoundland and Labrador are: Canada Revenue Agency, Convergys St. John's, Eastern Health, Eastern School District; Memorial University; Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; HHM Transportation Solutions; Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation; PHB Group, Inc; St. John's Regional Fire Department; and Tiller Engineering, Inc.

"Reservists play a critical role as part of Canada's Defence Team as they balance their civilian job and school responsibilities with military service," said Bill Mahoney, CFLC chair for Newfoundland and Labrador. "Employer and educator goodwill has made it possible for these reservists to serve their country. These awards are a small measure of the appreciation we hold for employers for their first rate support to employees who serve."

The CFLC is a group of civilian business leaders and educators who volunteer their time and efforts to promote the primary Reserve Force by highlighting the benefits of Reserve Force training and experience to the civilian workplace.
