TORONTO, ONTARIO and VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 7, 2015) - LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services has joined as a Proud Supporter of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. As a Proud Supporter of the Games, LifeLabs will provide laboratory services to participating athletes and officials, as well as phlebotomy services in support of the anti-doping program.

"We are delighted to support the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games," said Sue Paish, president and CEO of LifeLabs. "It's a privilege to take part in this historic event and to support the success of the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games."

"We're very pleased to welcome LifeLabs as a Proud Supporter of the TORONTO 2015 Games. LifeLabs' long-standing history of providing exceptional lab services to Canadians will make a vital contribution to staging the best Games ever," said Saäd Rafi, chief executive officer of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015). "Having LifeLabs deliver lab services for the Games is another example of how we're providing a world-class experience for athletes and volunteers both on and off the field of play."

LifeLabs employees will collect samples and perform laboratory tests during the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games as part of the medical and health-care team who will be supporting the well-being of the athletes, coaches and officials - essential for the success of one of the largest international multi-sport events.

LifeLabs will operate a main laboratory in the Polyclinic at the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletes' Village and will provide lab services at the five satellite accommodation locations.

LifeLabs expects to collect more than one thousand laboratory tests as part of a greater team who will be tasked with providing an exceptional Games experience for athletes, volunteers and spectators in 2015. In addition, LifeLabs will be providing phlebotomy services on behalf of the TO2015 anti-doping program. Specimens collected will be sent to a world anti-doping agency accredited laboratory.

"We are honoured that LifeLabs was chosen to participate in an international multi-sport event that promotes the importance of healthy living and leaving a lasting legacy of sport in our communities," said John Knowlton, LifeLabs Board Chair and Executive Managing Director of Borealis Infrastructure.
