LifeLock Co-Founder Joins Ask.Vet as Chief Marketing Officer

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired - April 14, 2016) -  Ask.Vet, the rapidly growing service that easily connects pet owners to veterinarians via text, announced today that Robert Maynard has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer. Maynard is a serial entrepreneur and consumer-marketing expert who has scaled several companies to quickly achieve rapid growth. During his career, his product innovations and marketing skills have led to more than $3.5 billion in consumer sales and $3.0 billion in investor returns.

Maynard's mission is to quickly make Ask.Vet the market leader and first resource for pet owners needing to urgently connect with a veterinarian. Ask.Vet provides education and understanding about animal health and behavior, and helps determine when it's time to send a pet to an in-office visit. Ask.Vet refers people to veterinarians who have been rigorously checked for skills, expertise and compassion. Since inception, 70 percent of Ask.Vet engagements have resulted in a referral to a local veterinarian.

"The pet industry is a $60 billion market, yet veterinarian visits have declined. Half of animal owners admit to not having a regular veterinarian," commented Cal Lai, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Ask.Vet. "Ask.Vet is helping veterinarians regain the voice of authority and giving animal owners easy access to care. Robert's expertise in mass media strategy and understanding of consumer behavior will accelerate our growth and market leadership."

Julie Sadhvani said of her recent experience with Ask.Vet, "My dog finally received the proper care and attention he should have gotten a month ago. Ask.Vet basically saved my dog's life."

Commented Maynard, "It is stories like this and a multitude of others that made me want to join this innovative company. More people need to know about Ask.Vet and that's exactly what I plan to do."
