MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 4, 2006) - Starting August 3rd, 2006 (launching cocktail), the real soul music lovers will be delighted to discover new talents in the metropolis for the second year in a row. The Light On Soul festival sheds a much needed light on R&B/Soul artists performing songs from the 70's to today through sultry songstresses and lover boys velvet voices... Every Thursdays and Fridays of August until September 2nd (Gala), La Place A Cote, 4571 rue Papineau, will host the festival that will takes us back to the good ol' funky sexy cabaret style days.

Light On Soul helps the upcoming artists understand and reach the music industry in Quebec and around. Plus, by participating, the artists get the opportunity to use a good promotionnal tool and a venue to showcase their talent.

This years Light On Soul will offer performances by new discoveries like Ramon from Dibondoko who did the fisrt part for Youssou N'Dour during The Nuits d'Afrique Festival in 2006. We will also delight you with the charming Marylin who worked in collaboration with Luck Mervil and Sara Renelik. Furthermore, get ready for a much awaited appearance from Dupuis; well known voice on l'Assemblee's track "Turn your head around". Other treats; Light on soul invites known and respected artists like Kodiak, winner of the La Chanson de Granby Festival in 2002 and Gage; Corneille's protege.
