Lightwave Security Introduces IT-GRC Solution for State, Local Governments

Agency for Workforce Innovation Selects SecureAware® to Help State of Florida Advance Best Practices for Information Security, Risk Management

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 1, 2010) -  RSA Data Security Conference -- Lightwave Security, the leading provider of IT-GRC Solutions to mid-sized organizations and businesses, today announced that the Agency for Workforce Innovation (AWI), Florida's lead state workforce agency, has selected SecureAware® to enable 2,000 state employees to meet U.S. Department of Labor and the State of Florida best practices in information security and risk management.

Under the agreement, AWI will deploy Lightwave's SecureAware®, an all-in-one platform for compliance, best practices and security awareness that incorporates an automated compliance workflow system built to ISO 27001 international standards. SecureAware® can also help manage multiple compliance mandates, create policy management efficiencies, conduct security awareness training and identify, mitigate, and reduce organizational risks. Because SecureAware® automates repeatable processes, organizations such as AWI can respond rapidly to new compliance mandates, audit requests and evolving organizational risks.

Lightwave Security is showcasing SecureAware® at the 2010 RSA Data Security Conference March 1-5, 2010, Booth 2732 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

In the information security arena, the biggest risks are end-users. Training and periodically reminding employees on how to follow corporate security policies is the best assurance to achieve IT security goals. To do this, SecureAware® provides an engine behind the scenes to help deliver security policy as well as to track participation in particular training sessions over a period of time. In addition, SecureAware® delivers analysis, reports and metrics related to security training.

AWI chose SecureAware® over other IT-GRC solutions because it can be customized to fit organizational requirements and for its affordability. SecureAware® can also help manage business risks and comply with security standards and statutory regulations while adhering to ISO 2700x best practices.

"AWI is a great example of how a government agency can use SecureAware® to initiate and track compliance and IT security awareness programs locally and remotely and expand its use into other departments," said Joseph Dell, founder and CEO of Lightwave Security. "SecureAware® makes it easier for security managers to create, maintain and communicate security policies, procedures and guidelines across the organization."

Workforce development policy and guidance in Florida is provided by Workforce Florida, Inc. Workforce Florida and the AWI are partners in the Employ Florida network, which includes 24 Regional Workforce Boards who deliver services through nearly 90 One-Stop Career Centers around the state. SecureAware® enables AWI to easily provide the required IT security training to offsite locations.

SecureAware® fit AWI from both a flexibility and a price standpoint. SecureAware® was a "just right" solution because it comes embedded with some static content including globally accepted IT security frameworks, but also allows AWI to create its own content and to customize it for its needs.
