Lincoln Chiropractor Makes Strides Against Breast Cancer

LINCOLN, NE--(Marketwire - Nov 18, 2011) - Dr. Teresa Larson, a provider of family chiropractic services at the Southwest Chiropractic Center, P.C. in Lincoln, Nebraska, recently participated in the local 2011 "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk, where over $100,000 was raised to help save lives. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, the three to five mile walks in cities around the country have raised over $400 million since 1993 in the fight against this devastating disease which affects so many women. The doctor participated in the walk as her way of stressing to patients and neighbors the importance of getting active in the community and staying healthy.

Commenting on the event the Lincoln chiropractor said, "I was thrilled to be able to support such a worthwhile cause and encourage others to do the same. I see so many people at my family chiropractic practice who are trying to recover from some type of illness or injury and I know how important these organizations are to helping them recover. People who get involved in these events benefit twice because they know they are helping to raise much-needed funds and they're also helping to make their own lives a little healthier."

During office visits, the chiropractor often takes time to explain the connection between treatments, regular exercise and community service to her patients. Many who are recovering from some type of injury are able to once again begin light exercise routines after the doctor helps reduce the amount of back pain or other pain they are experiencing. As they begin to gain strength and mobility from a regular course of treatment, they frequently look to participate in much bigger events such as the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. The doctor also pointed out that there are dozens of other walks, runs and other events in the community each year which people can support in the effort to improve their own health and increase the quality of life for everyone.

The Chiropractic Center provides a wide range of non-invasive and drug-free services to help patients become more fit and healthy so they can increase their involvement in these worthwhile community events. Dr. Larson uses acupuncture, adjustments and spinal manipulation to treat patients who are suffering from the debilitating effects of neck pain, auto injury, whiplash, fibromyalgia, sciatica, headaches, migraines, allergies, postural problems, pregnancy pain, and work-related injuries. As a provider of family chiropractic services, Dr. Larson welcomes patients of all ages including infants, children, young adults, adults and senior citizens.
