Lincoln Property Company Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month With Communities for the Cure Day


DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Oct 16, 2014) - Lincoln Property Company, the second largest multi-family manager in the US, has been celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in offices and apartment communities throughout the country with its "Communities for the Cure" initiative.

Each office, or community, has chosen its own method to either increase awareness or to raise funding to find a cure for this deadly disease.

Some offices have been wearing pink ribbons all month while others have created events to raise money. Lincoln offices have had bake sales, parties and sold other pink items to raise funds. Employees are encouraged to take team photos and share on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram using the hashtags #gopink and #communitiesforthecure.

"Breast cancer is something that touches so many of us," says Christina Bolter, Vice President of Operations for Lincoln's Mid-Atlantic Region. "Lincoln Property Company wanted to show support and have communities from across the nation join in the cause and help make a difference. We're excited about the events we have planned for our region this week!"

At Lincoln's corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX, all employees are invited to wear pink on October 17 to raise awareness and to encourage any employees currently facing this hardship to come forward and ask for any necessary assistance. In exchange for a donation to the cause, employees are also allowed to wear casual attire this day.

This is the fourth year that Lincoln has hosted Communities for the Cure events in offices across the nation. In the past, some communities have made and sold t-shirts to their residents and employees, and hosted "pink" resident events and parties.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in 1985 to increase awareness about the disease, raise funds to find a cure and to promote mammography. Over 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States each year.

Lincoln is also involved with Lincoln Charities which is an in-house fundraising program that supports Lincoln employees during times of need. It is dedicated to inspiring hope and restoring welfare through the monetary donations of employees, vendors, and business partners.
