Lincoln-Way Dispatch Depends on Exalt

Exalt Microwave Backhaul System Provides Crucial Link for Emergency Services

CAMPBELL, CA--(Marketwire - January 26, 2011) - Exalt Communications today announced that Lincoln-Way Dispatch of Will County, Illinois has deployed an Exalt microwave backhaul system to provide a crucial communications link between the dispatch center and the Will County Sheriff's Office. Lincoln-Way Dispatch handles emergency response communications services for nine police and fire agencies in Will County, and it uses the Exalt microwave link to establish connectivity to the Will County Sheriff's Office for exchanging vital police and fire agency information.

"The link between our dispatch center and the Sheriff's Office is crucial for providing emergency services to five fire and four police agencies in East Joliet, Frankfort, Mokena, Manhattan and New Lenox, so we needed a microwave link that could ensure high reliability," said Brad Veerman, director of Lincoln-Way Dispatch. "The Exalt system came highly recommended from other public safety agencies in Will County, and it has given us the reliability and performance we need."

The Exalt microwave backhaul system deployed for Lincoln-Way dispatch provides connectivity over an 8-mile stretch to the Will County Sheriff's Office. The system is configured for the 4.9 GHz public safety frequency band and carries four T1 lines for dispatch radio service along with Ethernet connectivity for mail, file server access, and administrative applications.

"For public safety agencies, communications links are lifelines for first-responders and the communities they serve," said Amir Zoufonoun, president and CEO of Exalt Communications. "These agencies turn to Exalt because our high performance systems deliver five-nines, carrier-grade reliability under all conditions, are easy to deploy and maintain, and support native TDM and native Ethernet to help agencies stretch their budgets by eliminating costly leased lines."
