Lincroft Dental Office Encourages Seniors to Apply for Special Scholarship

LINCROFT, NJ --(Marketwired - February 24, 2016) - Newman Springs Dental Care, a family dental practice, is asking graduating seniors seeking a career in health care to apply for a $500 scholarship.

Each year, the dental practice awards two $500 scholarships to Middletown High School North and South students and another to a graduating senior from Holmdel High School. All applicants must be committed to pursuing a career in medicine, nursing, dentistry, chiropractic, physical therapy or other areas of health care.

"The community has been so great to the entire team at Newman Springs Dental Care, and we see this annual scholarship as a chance to give back," said Dr. Mitchel Friedman, who operates Newman Springs Dental Care. "We're happy to play a small part in a local student's higher education."

This is the seventh year that Newman Springs Dental Care has offered the scholarships. Dr. Friedman presented the 2015 scholarships to Samuel Goldin of Holmdel High School, Brianna Ciampa of Middletown High School North and Luisa Rinaudo of Middletown High School South.

Dr. Friedman and his three children all graduated from Holmdel Township public schools.

Applications must be received by April 21. Winning applicants will be notified by mail or phone no later than May 2. Award certificates will be presented at a special ceremony at the dental office or at the school's senior awards ceremony. Award checks will be mailed directly to the institution of higher education upon verification of enrollment.

"This is one of our favorite events of the entire year, as we get to help local students start off their college career on a positive note," Dr. Friedman said. "We love supporting this community, and we love seeing the young people in this area pursuing their life goals."

Scholarship applications have been sent to the high school guidance departments and are also available via email:
