Lincroft Dentists Use Cosmetic Dentistry Teeth Whitening Treatments to Raise More Than $4,000 for Children in Need

LINCROFT, NJ--(Marketwired - October 23, 2014) - Newman Springs Dental Care, a leader in providing Lincroft teeth in a day, again participated in the annual Smiles For Life Foundation fundraiser this year to raise money for children in need.

Each year the Crown Council, a national alliance of philanthropic dentists, participates in the fundraiser by offering discount cosmetic dentistry teeth whitening treatments to patients. The teeth-whitening materials are donated by Ultradent and all proceeds go to the Smiles For Life Foundation.

This year's event raised $1.5 million nationally. Newman Springs Dental Care has participated in the event for 12 years, raising $4,166 this year. The dental practice's donations were shared equally between St. Jude Children's Hospital and Parker Family Health Center in Red Bank, NJ. Dr. Mitchel Friedman, the owner and operator of Newman Springs Dental Care, also is a volunteer dentist at the health center.

"With affordable cosmetic dentistry we were able to brighten the smile of our patients while also working to brighten the future for a child in need," said Dr. Friedman, who offers Lincroft mini dental implant procedures.

Both Dr. Friedman and his business partner, Dr. Julia Cintron, participated in the fundraiser, which lasted several months.

"This effort is proof that having a whiter smile can do more than make you feel more confident; it can help sick and disadvantaged children get needed health care," Dr. Friedman said. "Our entire staff and the generous community looks forward to this campaign every year."

Newman Springs Dental Care is a comprehensive dental practice that focuses on aesthetic dentistry, sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implant surgery, full denture implants, temporary dentures, porcelain veneer teeth, restorations, teeth whitening, Invisalign, CEREC same-day crowns, same day dental implants, natural looking dentures, endodontics, crowns, bridges and preventive care.

Dr. Friedman is a 1976 graduate of Middletown High School North. The Lincroft dentist received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers College and graduated in the top 15 percent of his class from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1984. He completed the General Practice Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center. Dr. Friedman is now highly recognized as one of Lincroft's best cosmetic dentists who is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. To obtain a Master designation, Dr. Friedman first became a Fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry, a process that requires 500 hours in continuing education. For his Master designation, Dr. Friedman took an additional 600 hours of continuing education courses, 400 hours of which required hands-on instruction.

Dr. Friedman holds memberships with the New Jersey Dental Association, American Dental Association, Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society, Crown Council, New Jersey Dental Society of Anesthesia, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He also is an attending doctor and part-time clinical instructor at Monmouth Medical Center.

Dr. Friedman is responsible for bringing the Dentistry From The Heart program to Lincroft. During the event, professional oral health care workers provide adults with free exams, blood pressure and advanced oral cancer screenings, and digital X-rays at Dr. Friedman's practice, located at 539 Newman Springs Road. Volunteers treated more than 100 patients last year, and Dr. Friedman and his dedicated group of volunteers have given away more than $350,000 in dental care since the event came to Lincroft in 2007. This year's event was scheduled for Oct. 23.

Dr. Cintron is a graduate of the Rutgers University-University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Biomedical Services. Following dental school, she continued her education through the General Practice Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center.
