Linear Gold Continues to Extend Gold Mineralization at
the Campamento Zone, Ixhuatan Project, Mexico

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - March 30, 2005) - Linear Gold Corp.
(TSX:LRR) is pleased to announce that it has identified additional gold
mineralization from the Campamento target zone of its 100% owned
Ixhuatan project, located in Chiapas, Mexico. New results are from Holes
IX-45 through IX-50 with highlights of 80.0 metres containing 11.6 grams
per tonne of gold from Hole IX-45 and 41.6 metres containing 11.1 grams
per tonne of gold from Hole IX-46. Also, holes IX-48, IX-49, and IX-50
indicate near surface oxide gold intersections in the northwestern
portion of the gold in soils anomaly to the north and south of the
original discovery hole, IX-9.

Hole IX-45 was drilled to the east at an angle of minus 70 degrees from
the site of Hole IX-26 which had been drilled vertically (reported on
November 16, 2004 containing 100 metres of 12.0 grams gold per tonne).
Assays indicate the continuity of the high grade mineralization to the
east in an area previously untested by drilling. At a depth of 80
metres, the mineralization from Hole IX-45 extends a further 27.4 metres
to the east of the collar of both holes. Additional lower grade
mineralization is identified through the remaining depth of the hole to
138 metres. Hole IX-45 demonstrates the continuity of the high grade
mineralization to the east and that the grade of Hole IX-26 was not
restricted to a confined vertical zone.

Hole IX-46 was drilled at an azimuth of S84E at an angle of -70 degrees
from a site 25 metres to the northwest of Hole IX-26. The hole was
designed to test the area beneath Holes IX-26 and IX-27 and encountered
the zone of high grade mineralization further to the west than
previously indicated. At the depth of 93.6 metres the mineralization is
located 31.8 metres to the east of the collar of the hole placing it
north of Hole IX-26 and west of Hole IX-27. Hole IX-46 demonstrates the
continuity of the high grade mineralization further to the west of the
original drill pattern.

Hole IX-47 was drilled vertically from a site located 25 metres to the
south of Hole IX-09, the original discovery Hole of the Campamento
system. The hole did not encounter significant mineralization and
appears to have been drilled down a vertical feature which is weakly
mineralized.

Hole IX-48 was drilled vertically from a site located 40 metres to the
north of Hole IX-09. The hole encountered a zone of mineralization
beginning at the surface containing 10 metres of 3.0 grams per tonne of
gold and 9.4 grams per tonne of silver. This hole demonstrates the
continuity of the horizontal zone of mineralization observed in Hole
IX-09 further to the north from areas previously drilled.

Hole IX-49 was drilled at an azimuth of N21W at an angle of -70 degrees
from the same site as that of Hole IX-47. In contrast to the results of
Hole IX-47, Hole IX-49 encountered a zone of mineralization from 26 to
52 metres depth containing 1.7 grams per tonne of gold and 3.9 grams per
tonne of silver. Hole IX-49 indicates continuity of the zone of
mineralization identified in Hole IX-09 16 metres to the south.

Hole IX-50 was drilled at an azimuth of N39W at an angle of -70 degrees
from the same site as that of hole IX-48. The hole indicates a similar
zone of mineralization to Hole IX-48 from 0-10 metres containing 4.3
grams per tonne of gold and 15.6 grams per tonne of silver. The slightly
higher grade in Hole IX-50 compared to IX-48 suggests a vector toward
higher grade mineralization to the northwest in an area where soil
sampling indicates values of 9.7 grams per tonne of gold.

Surface sampling along the new access road into the Campamento target
indicates gold grades further to the west and southwest of the drilling
pattern which indicates additional extensions of the mineralization.
Sampling indicates a zone of 20 metres width containing 1.3 grams per
tonne of gold and 5.9 grams per tonne of silver located approximately 10
metres to the west of the collar of Hole IX-18. In addition a second
zone located 68 metres to the south of Hole IX-09 indicates a width of
16 metres containing 1.2 grams per tonne of gold and 1.9 grams per tonne
of silver. Locations of the anomalous zones can be accessed on Linear's
website at www.lineargoldcorp.com.

A larger capacity CCS-3000 core rig is currently drilling IX-53 and
drilling is continuing at an accelerated pace. Additional drill rigs
have been ordered and are expected on site shortly, as Linear continues
to increase the pace of drilling.

Phil Pyle, Linear's Vice President of Exploration for Central America
states "We are pleased by the continuity of the high grade zone to the
east and west of Hole IX-26. The new zones of shallow oxide
mineralization to the north and south of Hole IX-09 are also encouraging
as the mineralization is exhibiting continuity in all directions. The
surface sampling to the west and southwest of the drill pattern has now
identified additional drill targets in areas previously thought to be
unmineralized."

This press release has been prepared under the supervision of Michael
Druecker, Ph.D., P.Geo. who serves as the qualified person for this
project under National Instrument 43-101. A map of the project showing
the location of all drill holes is available at the company's website
www.lineargoldcorp.com.

All samples were submitted to ALS Chemex Labs in Guadalajara Mexico with
gold by 30g digestion Fire Assay - AA finish with samples greater than
10 g/tonne analyzed by Fire Assay - gravimetric finish and other metals
by ICP.

Linear Gold Corp. is actively exploring for gold and base metals in
Mexico, and through joint ventures in Canada and the Dominican Republic.
