HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 24, 2005) - Linear Gold Corp.
(LRR.TSX) is pleased to announce that it has identified additional gold
mineralization to the south and east of previous drilling from the
Campamento target zone of its 100% owned Ixhuatan project, located in
Chiapas, Mexico. New results are from Holes IX-35 through IX-39 and
include highlights of 132.0 metres containing 5.8 grams per tonne of
gold from Hole IX-37 and 81.6 metres containing 7.1 grams per tonne of
gold from Hole IX-39, both of which bottomed in mineralization.
Additional highlights are from Hole 38, the easternmost intersection on
the Campamento Target, which encountered 94.0 metres at 3.1 grams per
tonne of gold including a 20 metre section from 36 to 56 metres
containing 11.1 grams per tonne of gold.

Hole IX-35 was drilled to the south at an angle of -70 degrees from the
site of hole IX-32 (drilled vertically intersecting 90 metres of 1.9
grams per tonne of gold) and hole IX-34 (drilled to the east at an angle
of -70 degrees intersecting 54 metres at 2.6 grams per tonne of gold).
Hole IX-35 intersected 12 metres containing 2.3 grams per tonne of gold
and 8.2 grams per tonne of silver within a thicker lower grade zone. The
indication of ore grade intersections in each of the three holes with
different orientations from the same site indicates strong continuity of
grade with no preferred structural orientation. The lower grades
encountered deeper in hole IX-35 suggest that the hole is penetrating
the lower grade shell as is identified in other holes along the southern
margin of the deposit.

Hole IX-36 was drilled to the east at an angle of -70 degrees from the
site of Hole IX-31 (drilled vertically intersecting three separate 2
metre intersections of 1.0 gram per tonne of gold). Hole IX-36
intersected 76 metres containing 0.5 grams per tonne of gold with three
short intervals of 1 gram per tonne of gold. Hole IX-36 shows a higher
overall grade to that encountered in Hole IX-31 and indicates that it
too is intersecting the lower grade shell along the southern margin of
the deposit. The increase in grade to the east of Hole IX-31 further
confirms a vector for increasing mineralization to the southeast in the
Campamento Zone which remains untested by drilling.

Hole IX-37 was drilled to the east at an angle of -70 degrees from the
site of Hole IX-27 (drilled vertically intersecting 143.9 metres
containing 6.6 grams per tonne of gold) and bottomed in mineralization
at a distance of approximately 45 metres east of its collar position,
indicating significant continuity of grade to the east of Hole IX-27.
Hole IX-37 intersected 132 metres containing 5.8 grams per tonne of gold
and 32.4 grams per tonne of silver and bottomed in mineralization as did
Hole IX-27. The similarity in grades between Holes IX-27 and IX-37
indicates no preferred structural orientation to the mineralization in
this area.

Hole IX-38 was drilled to the east at an angle of -70 degrees from the
site of Hole IX-22 (drilled vertically intersecting 108 metres
containing 3.5 grams per tonne of gold) and bottomed in mineralization
at a distance of approximately 57 metres to the east of the collar
position, indicating significant continuity of grade to the east of Hole
IX-22, which was previously the easternmost hole of the drill pattern.
Hole IX-38 intersected 161 metres containing 2.0 grams per tonne of gold
and 5.3 grams per tonne of silver and included 94 metres containing 3.1
grams per tonne of gold and 7.4 grams per tonne of silver. The
similarity in grades between Holes IX-22 and IX-38 indicates no
preferred structural orientation to the mineralization in this area.

Hole IX-39 was drilled to the south at an angle of -70 degrees from the
site of Hole IX-27 and IX-37 (described above) and bottomed in
mineralization at a distance of approximately 28 metres to the south of
the collar position, indicating significant continuity of grade to that
of Holes IX-27 and IX-37. Hole IX-39 intersected 81.6 metres at 7.1
grams per tonne of gold and 35.0 grams per tonne of silver and was lost
at a shallow depth due to mechanical problems with the drill. The
indication of ore grade intersections in each of the three holes with
different orientations from the same site indicates strong continuity of
grade with no preferred structural orientation.

Drilling is continuing at an accelerated pace with four additional holes
completed (IX-40 through IX-44) and pending assays.

Phil Pyle, Linear's Vice President of Exploration for Central America
states "We are encouraged that the angle holes completed in this phase
of the program are indicating similar grades and thicknesses as the
earlier vertical holes. The mineralization is showing good continuity to
the southeast and east as well as at depth. The zone of continuous
mineralization in the Campamento Zone is continuing to grow quickly as
three of these five holes have indicated thick zones of strong grade
continuity and have bottomed in mineralization."

All samples were submitted to ALS Chemex Labs in Guadalajara Mexico with
gold by 30g digestion Fire Assay - AA finish with samples greater than
10 g/tonne analyzed by Fire Assay - gravimetric finish and other metals
by ICP.

Linear Gold Corp. is actively exploring for gold and base metals in
