Linear Gold Reports Drill Results from the Campamento Deposit and Western Anomaly, Ixhuatan Project, Mexico

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - May 26, 2005) - Linear Gold Corp. (TSX:LRR) is pleased to report additional drill results form the Campamento Deposit and Western Anomaly of the Ixhuatan Project, located in Chiapas, Mexico.

Campamento Deposit

Additional drilling has identified an extension of gold mineralization to the southwest and east of the Campamento deposit. New results are from Hole IX-59 which include highlights of 84 to 194 metres containing 110 metres of 1.7 grams per tonne of gold and 8.8 grams per tonne of silver. Included within this zone is an interval from 140 to 180 metres containing 40 metres of 3.0 grams per tonne of gold and 17 grams per tonne of silver. In addition, a new extension to shallow oxide gold mineralization has been identified to the east of the Campamento deposit. The first hole, IX-62, on the spur road to the east of the original drilling pattern has identified a zone from 0 to 16 metres containing 16 metres of 2.0 grams per tonne of gold and 15.4 grams per tonne of silver. Assays from the deepest portions of Hole IX-62 remain pending.

Hole IX-56 is an angle hole drilled underneath the Campamento system from west to east at -70 degrees which progressed slowly due to difficult drilling conditions. Initial results are from the first 134 metres which indicate gold mineralization beginning at 110 metres depth.

Hole IX-57 was drilled at an angle of -70 degrees to the west and IX-60 was drilled vertically in order to test gold mineralization observed in outcrop along two points of the access road. Both holes encountered weakly anomalous gold.

Hole IX-59 was drilled vertically located 32 metres to the west of drill Hole IX-33. The hole shows strong mineralization beginning at 32 metres depth and continuing to the end of hole at 235.34 metres. This hole marks a southwestern extension of mineralization from the previous drill pattern and indicates mineralization beginning at a higher elevation in the southwestern portion of the system. Of particular importance is a contained zone of higher grade from 140 to 180 metres containing 3.0 grams per tonne of gold and 17 grams per tonne of silver related to a similar style of clay and carbonate alteration as seen in central portions of the deposit.

Hole IX-62 was drilled vertically from a site on the newly constructed spur road located 140 metres to the east of hole IX-26. The hole has encountered a shallow zone of oxide mineralization from 0 to 16 metres containing 16 metres of 2.0 grams per tonne of gold and 15.4 grams per tonne of silver. The recognition of shallow oxide mineralization this far to the east and at higher elevation suggests further continuity to the east and above the Campamento deposit. The hole continued to a depth of 393 metres and assays are pending below 152 metres.

Hole IX-58 was drilled vertically and represents the first hole in the Western anomaly, located 1km northwest of the Campamento deposit. The results of shallow mineralization were reported in a press release of 5 May, 2005. New results are from a second zone of gold mineralization hosted within recrystallized limestone from 84-96 metres containing 12 metres of 1.7 grams per tonne of gold.

Hole IX 61 was drilled at an azimuth of N15W at an angle of -70 degrees from a site located 85 meters northeast of Hole IX-58 in the Western anomaly. The hole cut a thick section of volcaniclastic rock to the northwest of the main contact with older limestones. As had been seen in Hole 58, two zones of gold mineralization have been identified. The shallow zone extends from 6-14 meters containing 1.4 grams per tonne of gold in oxide material and a deeper zone from 48 to 68 metres containing 1.0 grams per tonne of gold.

Phil Pyle, Linear's Vice President of Exploration for Central America states, "The results from Hole IX-59 and Hole IX-62 expand the Campamento system significantly in both lateral and vertical extents. The additional gold mineralization identified in the Western anomaly is encouraging and suggests a broad zone of both near surface oxide gold mineralization and deeper sulfide mineralization."

This press release has been prepared under the supervision of Peter Dimmell, P.Geo. who serves as the qualified person for this project under National Instrument 43-101. A map of the project showing the location of all drill holes is available at the company's website http://www.lineargoldcorp.com.

All samples were submitted to ALS Chemex Labs in Guadalajara Mexico with gold by 30g digestion Fire Assay - AA finish with samples greater than 10 g/tonne analyzed by Fire Assay - gravimetric finish and other metals by ICP.

Linear Gold Corp. is actively exploring for gold and base metals in Mexico, and through joint ventures in Canada and the Dominican Republic.
