LinkedIn Co-Founder Konstantin Guericke Joins RallyPoint Board of Directors

WATERTOWN, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2015) - RallyPoint, the network where military service members and veterans come together, mentor, and discuss military life, announced today that Konstantin Guericke, Co-Founder of LinkedIn, will join the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Guericke joins RallyPoint as its membership surpasses 500,000, which includes 10 percent of today's U.S. Military.

"RallyPoint is changing the lives of actively serving and veteran military members every day and, as the network grows, its impact will be even greater," said Guericke. "I am proud to join this team and further enhance a special social movement that will influence one of the oldest institutions in the United States. This is the first social platform that has been adopted by members of all five branches of the military. Its mission promotes the sharing of thoughts, ideas, and best practices, empowering members to prosper in all facets of life."

RallyPoint is structured by military credentials and civilian experience, which allows its members to capitalize on their shared experience and the inherent trust they gained while serving. This has led to the sharing of information, advice, and experience that helps its members improve each other's lives. Through long form content creation and the crowd sourcing of advice, RallyPoint's 500,000 members have leveraged their experiences for the benefit of their peers more than 1 million times.

"RallyPoint members are asking each other how to deal with the VA, approach a military promotion board, cope with transition, prepare for deployment, consider advanced education, plan for parenthood, or save for retirement," said Yinon Weiss, Co-Founder and CEO of RallyPoint. "There are over two thousand new questions and answers shared every day introducing use cases we never imagined."

Weiss added, "Konstantin joins the RallyPoint team at a very exciting time. He was instrumental in introducing the professional community to the power of LinkedIn. We welcome him to our team as we begin to share RallyPoint's success with the rest of the military community."

Guericke, a graduate of Stanford University with a B.S. and M.S. in engineering, serves on the boards of several startups and mentors Stanford student entrepreneurs. Previously, he served as CEO of Jaxtr, a social communications startup that amassed over 10 million members. As a Co-Founder of LinkedIn, Guericke headed up marketing from pre-product phase to six million members and profitability. Prior to LinkedIn, Konstantin served as vice president of marketing at slide sharing community Presenter.com, and as vice president of sales and marketing for Black Sun Interactive, a pioneer in 3-D social software.
