BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) - "A THOUSAND SUNS," the highly anticipated fourth studio album from Grammy award winning alternative artist Linkin Park is out today (Machine Shop Recordings/ Warner Bros). Co-produced by Rick Rubin and Linkin Park co-lead vocalist, Mike Shinoda, the album features 15 tracks, including the #1 alternative radio and Billboard Rock Songs Chart single, 'The Catalyst.' The second single 'Waiting For The End' has just impacted radio and is off to an equally fast start.
In celebration of their album release, Linkin Park will be performing a special show at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, NY. MySpace Music and Linkin Park have teamed up again to give fans ultimate access to their only North American show of 2010. MySpace Music will be releasing four songs, one each day, from footage filmed by Linkin Park/MySpace fans beginning September 17th. MySpace users attending the show will be helping film the show with their own portable cameras and their footage will be incorporated into the final cut of the performance.
Coinciding with the release of "A Thousand Suns," comes Linkin Park Revenge, from leading app developer Tapulous, creators of the highly popular TapTap Revenge game series. Linkin Park Revenge, available for the iPhone and iPod touch, features a special collection of 10 Linkin Park songs, including four from the new album. In the game, players tap a sequence of targets as they race down the screen, racking up big points and unlocking special scoring bonuses and power-ups to the pounding music of Linkin Park. The app features all new, specially designed themes based on the graphics and iconic imagery of the band -- an eye-popping visual experience that bursts out of your screen.
Linkin Park's previous app, 8 Bit Rebellion was recently nominated in the inaugural Billboard Apps Awards, which recognizes excellence in the medium. Created by Linkin Park, Artifical Life and Warner Bros. Records, the action game lets fans play as members of the band battling an evil corporation. Released last April, it has sold more than 50,000 copies worldwide.
