Linley Tech 7th Annual Processor Conference Focuses on Processors for Communications Systems

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 1, 2013) - The 7th Annual Linley Tech Processor Conference kicks off with a focus on the rapidly changing market dynamics affecting networking in the enterprise, carrier, and cloud-computing markets, according to The Linley Group, the industry's leading source for independent technology analysis of semiconductors for networking, communications, mobile, and wireless applications.

The two-day conference will take place October 16 - 17 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif., and features 27 technical presentations as well as panel discussions, sponsor exhibits, and networking lunches. Topics to be covered include multicore-processor design, high-speed packet processing, data-center processors, licensable CPUs for networking, wireless base station CPUs, high-speed on-chip interconnect, hardware/software codesign, high-performance memories, and SDN and NFV.

"Software-defined networking, the rearchitecting of systems to support security and other services at 100Gbps and faster, and the evolution of cloud computing are disrupting the design of processors for communications, as well as the associated memory and software technologies. We see the enterprise and cloud markets driving some of the most significant changes and innovations in processor design," said Linley Gwennap, Linley Group principal analyst and conference chairperson. "As the leading analyst firm focused on semiconductors for embedded processing, communications, mobile and wireless, we understand the need for a deeper understanding of the market and technology changes taking place, and are committed to providing not only the most updated technical information, but also direct access to the industry leaders initiating these changes. This year's conference is our largest ever, with several companies making new product announcements or sharing technical details for the first time."

Products and technology being announced or disclosed at this event include: a new processor family from Freescale, a new ARC core from Synopsys, a new CPU design from Broadcom, the next generation CEVA-XC core from CEVA, a new on-chip interconnect from ARM, the next-generation Xtensa core from Cadence, a new compact CPU core from Andes Technology, a new MIPS core from Imagination, a new software development kit from ASOCS, and a new data-center product from Tilera.

Presenting, panelist, and exhibiting companies include Cavium, Applied Micro Circuits, Freescale, Synopsys, Netronome, EZchip, MoSys, Broadcom, Xilinx, LSI, Micron, Tilera, ASOCS, InsideSecure, Target, CEVA, ARM, Cadence, Andes Technology, Imagination, Marvell, Arteris, NetSpeed, Altera, EEMBC, HyperTransport, Power.org and Ethernet Alliance.

Attendees will have an opportunity to visit vendor exhibits and network with industry leaders during the cocktail reception on Wednesday, October 16 at 4:40 p.m.

The Linley Group offers free attendance to qualified registrants who sign up by October 10. For more information on the conference program and to register, please visit www.linleygroup.com/processor-conference.
