Linley Tech 8th Annual Processor Conference Focuses on Processors for Networking and Communications Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 8, 2014) - The 8th Annual Linley Tech Processor Conference kicks off with a focus on the rapidly changing market dynamics affecting networking in the enterprise, carrier, and cloud-computing markets, according to The Linley Group, the industry's leading source for independent technology analysis of semiconductors for networking, communications, mobile, and wireless applications.

The two-day conference will take place October 22 - 23 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif., and features 28 technical presentations as well as panel discussions, sponsor exhibits, and networking lunches. Topics to be covered include latest processor chips, processor IP, memory component, software, and other technology required to efficiently process data in embedded, enterprise, and cloud applications. Additional topics include security, wireless base stations, and high-performance interconnects.

"Connected everything, increasing appetite for bandwidth, and a rapid rate of change present challenges and opportunities. Service providers are using software defined networking to bring about fundamental networking changes and vendors are responding with innovative CPU architectures and the associated memories and interconnect," said Jag Bolaria, Linley Group principal analyst and conference chairperson. "Our goal is to provide a deeper understanding of the market and technology changes taking place and enable direct access to the industry leaders initiating these changes. This year's conference is our largest ever, with eight new product, technology, and industry initiative announcements."

Products and technology being announced or disclosed at this event include:

  • Freescale will disclose a new addition to the QorIQ LS1 family
