BALLERUP, DENMARK--(Marketwire - Jun 6, 2012) - LiqTech International, Inc. (OTCQX: LIQT) (PINKSHEETS: LIQT) ("LiqTech") is pleased to announce the appointment of Jens Kampmann, Denmark's former Minister for the Environment, to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Kampmann is one of the most respected politicians and business leaders in Denmark. He was Denmark's first Minister for the Environment (one of the first of his kind in the world), and has since spearheaded Denmark's pioneering environmental role through his leadership of some of the country's most important environmental agencies and companies.

Mr. Kampmann has also overseen the largest public works project in Danish history, served as board member in the nation's biggest energy company, and held several cabinet posts in the Danish Government.

"We are delighted to welcome Jens Kampmann to our Board of Directors," says Lasse Andreassen, CEO of LiqTech International. "His leadership in transforming Denmark into one of the most advanced clean-tech countries in the world has earned him international respect. For LiqTech International, Jens Kampmann's unique insight in environmental investments and companies, as well as his vast network of contacts in the global environmental sector, will be a very significant contribution to our Board," concluded Mr. Andreassen.

Mr. Kampmann was born in 1937 and served as Minister for the Environment from 1971 to 1973. Later, he also held the cabinet posts of Minister for Transportation and Minister for Taxation.

Mr. Kampmann left the government of Denmark to become Director General of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency in 1978, where he is still remembered as one of the most significant leaders in the history of the agency. In 1990, he accepted the position as General Manager of Invest Miljø A/S, a visionary, 'green' venture capital investment vehicle owned by Denmark's leading pension funds.

At the same time, he also served for 22 years as board member and chairman of Sund & Bælt, the company responsible for the largest public works projects in Danish history: The bridge across the Great Belt and the Sound and the upcoming bridge across Femern Belt to Germany. Additionally, Mr. Kampmann has been a board member at Denmark's biggest energy company, DONG Energy from 2005 through 2012.
