Liquipel Lets Deka Merge Fashion and Function in New Bluetooth Headsets

Aided by a New IndieGoGo Campaign, Deka's Headsets Are Fully Customizable and Watersafe™

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2013) - Deka (, a company full of design- and tech-obsessed free-thinkers, and Liquipel (, the industry leader in Watersafe™ technology and producer of impact-resistant Skins™ for mobile devices, announced today that discerning ears will never have to suffer the indignity of bland, mediocre-looking Bluetooth headsets again, nor will users need to be fearful of water or perspiration.

"Anyone who has seen a friend, colleague or family member wearing a sad-looking Bluetooth headset knows why it's so important that Deka succeeds," said Deka CEO and founder, Erik Adams. "Unfortunately, Bluetooth headsets have become a visual metaphor for extreme nerdiness. Our goal is to develop headsets that turn heads and turn on ears. We won't rest until every human ear has the chance to have some fun again."

Deka's IndieGoGo campaign can be found at:

Deka headsets use a patented, slide mechanism to change out covers (known as Deka Slides). Users select the headset cover they want and simply slide it over the earpiece. Currently, Deka Slide styles include a daisy, skull and numerous other designs across a range of colors. Deka also offers custom 3D printing and custom photo options for true individuality.

Deka has partnered with Liquipel, the world's leading electronics solutions provider in Watersafe™ nano technology, to help protect its headsets from accidental exposure to water, sweat and other liquids.

"As a company dedicated to liberating electronics and providing people with a no-limits lifestyle, we're excited to partner with Deka on headsets that bring personalization to life," said Jason Winkler, Liquipel's vice president of marketing. "Our treatment means that as well as looking stylish and fashionable, Deka's headsets will also be water-resistant and long-lasting."

From a hardware perspective, Deka's headsets feature premium technology with HD-quality sound and a clear, high-quality microphone. In addition, Deka headsets are durable in a variety of situations, including noise-canceling speakers for crowded rooms and airplanes. Deka headsets utilize Bluetooth 3.0, have a long battery life, a talk time of up to five hours, and standby time of up to 150 hours.

"Deka aims to liberate consumers across the world from the grey injection molded blobs that inspire apathy in users, and ridicule from anyone in close proximity," said Adams. "We are launching with a number of stylish designs and colors, but one of our most unique features is the ability to create custom 3D printed headset. These personalized statements are a first for the wireless headset industry."

In addition to the IndieGoGo campaign, Deka is currently taking pre-orders for its initial launch at Deka's market launch is scheduled for January 2014.
