Literacy Suffolk, Inc. Receives $1,000 From Wells Fargo on Behalf of Acordia Volunteer Service Award Winner

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 22, 2005 -- Acordia, Inc., a Wells Fargo Company, announced today that Marylou Krzeski, Acordia Senior Account Executive in New York, N.Y., received the 2005 Volunteer Service Award from Wells Fargo in recognition of the valuable contributions she has made to Literacy Suffolk, Inc. Wells Fargo will contribute $1,000 to Literacy Suffolk, Inc. in Krzeski's honor.

The not-for-profit organization, Literacy Suffolk, Inc. provides English tutors for adult speakers of other languages (ESOL) and reading tutors for adult non-readers or low-level readers (BASIC). Krzeski volunteers an average of 10-12 hours per week, including preparation time, tutoring ESOL adults, who are primarily immigrants. She has been tutoring for more than five years and has recently become a tutor mentor, as well.

The Volunteer Service Award Program gives Wells Fargo team members the chance to win up to $50,000 for the non-profit organization or K-12 school where they volunteer. Krzeski is one of 164 Wells Fargo team members and one of five Acordia team members across the country to receive a Volunteer Service Award this year. In total, $320,000 will be awarded to the winners' organizations. Winners are chosen based on the team member's dedication to the organization, effectiveness of their work, amount of personal time volunteered and the value of their work to their community.
