LiteScape's Secure Profile Management Solution Adopted by U.S. Government to Enhance the Security of VoIP Rollout

Identity Authentication Mechanisms Enable Organizations to Ensure the Secure Communication of Confidential Data; Solution Being Showcased at This Month's CIPTUG and Annual National Guard Bureau Information Technology Conference

REDWOOD SHORES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2005 -- LiteScape Technologies, Inc. (, today announced that a prominent U.S. government organization has selected LiteScape's VoIP solutions for collaboration and secure communications, unveiling LiteScape's new Secure Profile Management (SPM) capabilities as a core element of its IP technology Enterprise deployment. SPM provides authenticated and personalized access to a wide variety of communications processes across the enterprise, and ensures IP-based technology is deployed and utilized in a secure environment to unlimited numbers of customers, employees and other constituencies.

IP phones are typically enabled at fixed locations in an "always on" mode, making them widely available at various public environments and accessible to multiple concurrent users with limited control. By leveraging multi-method secure authentication and policy-based conditional access control components, LiteScape's SPM solution enhances extension mobility so users can move from site to site and immediately access their personal data to quickly broadcast collaborative messages and engage in IP-based communications. SPM provides direct access to personal, corporate, and global directories on a policy basis, IP Telephony Services, and offers integrated support for time-management applications, session transfer for CRM integration, and IVR integration for mobile applications.

LiteScape will highlight the SPM capabilities in a presentation at the Cisco IP Telephony User Group (CIPTUG) conference (, being held November 28 - December 1 at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. LiteScape executive Manoj Fernando will discuss how to leverage collaboration mechanisms to improve business productivity on Wednesday, November 30th at 1:45 p.m. SPM will also be showcased at the 6th Annual National Guard Bureau Information Technology Conference ( being held December 5-8 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. LiteScape's SPM solution provides support for Cisco's VoIP infrastructure, including multiple versions of Cisco CallManager and Cisco VoIP phones, and will be demonstrated at the Cisco booth (#426).

"The tremendous adoption rate of VoIP infrastructure within organizations has expanded communication solutions for IP phones and provided a wider base of user access to enterprise data," said Farzad Naimi, CEO of LiteScape. "As these solutions are deployed, the need to secure and authenticate individual access to the network becomes of utmost importance. The key advantages inherent to SPM will allow customers to enhance the security of convergence applications and further leverage secure VoIP deployments across the enterprise."

SPM is built on LiteScape's powerful and scalable Multi-modal Application Platform™ (MAP), which enables the secure, real-time management of interactive sessions comprised of voice, data, and image streams that can be coordinated and simultaneously delivered to various IP phones and devices. Key benefits of SPM include:

-- Simplified secure authentication - Leveraging pre-existing
authentication mechanisms such as card-readers (RFID/magnetic),
passwords/PIN numbers and biometrics increases the security of data
transfers and simplifies access to information. SPM supports multiple off-
the-shelf 3rd party biometrics-based authentication servers, solutions and
    IP devices.
-- Services personalization based on employee account data - Once
authenticated, the system knows the employee's accounts, enabling users to
move from location to location within an organization to authenticate
themselves and access capabilities available to their personalized profile
    services at any IP device.
-- Authentication proxy/restrictions based on profile - Allows for the
controlled access to services and directories by defining hierarchical and
user level service access policies. Restrictions are tightly controlled
based on central policies and group/individual profile management.
-- Manageability and serviceability: Provides multi-access-level
administration and monitoring, encompassing information collection,
processing and distribution management, and logging/auditing for privacy
regulatory compliance. Also included are secure activity, event and
transaction logging, which prevents sensitive data from being included in
    operational logs.
-- Session and presence management: SPM can publish the user's current
"Present & Available" status. The same information can be shared with time-
management applications for the purpose of check-in/check-out services.
