SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 30, 2016) - LIVALL, the company spreading the joy of smart riding, today announced a voluntary recall for select BH100 helmets pre-ordered via Indiegogo and Kickstarter between August and December 2015 and shipped to backers in 65 countries worldwide.
None of the helmets shipped during this timeframe are compromised in terms of the safety they provide, however a small percentage of customers who received helmets pre-ordered during this timeframe have reported charging/power problems. The electronic component responsible for this issue was identified by LIVALL engineers and all helmets shipped since August to December 2015 no longer suffer from this issue.
As the issue is not safety-related, the recall is entirely voluntary, and is intended to demonstrate LIVALL's commitment to delivering a superior riding experience for its customers. The company is reaching out to customers individually to offer them a replacement LIVALL next generation mountain bike helmet in exchange for a nominal shipping fee. They are able to keep their original BH100 smart helmets.
LIVALL founder and CEO Brian Zheng commented: "We have put a great deal of work into our smart helmet technology, and we were thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response in the Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns. As a result, we want to make sure that everyone loves the helmets as much as we do. We're initiating this first-ever Indiegogo voluntary recall to ensure all our backers experience the joy of smart riding."
