LIVE 8 Media Alert: World's Largest Call to Action Includes Global SMS and Website Outreach, Plus Aggregated Blogs

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 1, 2005 --

Summary: Live 8, the international musical superconcert aimed at building massive global awareness on the eve of the G8 meeting of the leaders of the world's eight largest economic powers, will simulcast the world's biggest call to action in the form of a worldwide outreach via text message (SMS), website signup and a coordinated blog outreach. It is hoped that the outpouring will break the current one-day world record of 1.8 million text messages, sending a powerful signal to the G8.

What to Do: On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed in the city of Philadelphia in support of liberty and freedom. On July 2, 2005, Philadelphia is the United States' home for Live 8, asking Americans to sign their names in support of ending global hunger and poverty. Anyone can be a participant by adding their name to the worldwide "text" book to be sent to the G8 leaders and to be included on the tickertape backdrop scrolled above the stage at Philadelphia Live 8 through any of these options:
