Live: Election Night Results on Elections Canada's Web Site

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 25, 2006) - The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, announced today that the preliminary results for the federal by-elections in Repentigny (Quebec) and London North Centre (Ontario) will be available shortly after polling stations close on Monday, November 27, on Elections Canada's Web site at www.elections.ca.

"We wanted to give everyone the means to obtain the election night results that interest them most," explained Mr. Kingsley. "Our Web site allows you to see election night results live for each electoral district."

Preliminary results on election night will be displayed from 8:30 p.m. (Eastern Time), as soon as the votes are counted. Preliminary results from each polling station will be added as the returning officers send them to Elections Canada in Ottawa.

You can monitor both sets of results at any one time. Unofficial voter turnout will be displayed in real time throughout the night.

By-elections will be held in Repentigny and London North Centre on Monday, November 27, 2006.
