Live: Election Night Results on Elections Canada's Web Site

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 15, 2008) - The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that the preliminary results for the federal by-elections in Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River (Saskatchewan), Toronto Centre (Ontario), Vancouver Quadra (British Columbia) and Willowdale (Ontario) will be available shortly after polling stations close on Monday, March 17, 2008, on Elections Canada's Web site at www.elections.ca.

"We wanted to give everyone the means to obtain the election night results that interest them most," explained Mr. Mayrand. "Our Web site allows you to see election night results live for each electoral district."

Preliminary results on election night will be displayed from shortly after 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), as soon as the votes are counted. Preliminary results from each polling station will be added as the returning officers send them to Elections Canada in Ottawa.

You can monitor all four sets of results at any one time. Unofficial voter turnout will be displayed in real time throughout the night.

Federal by-elections will be held in Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River, Toronto Centre, Vancouver Quadra and Willowdale on Monday, March 17, 2008.
