liveBooks Partners With Rangefinder Publishing to Launch 2010 emerge Photography Competition at WPPI

Photography Contest Casts Spotlight on Emerging Wedding Photographers

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 8, 2010) -  liveBooks, Inc., the leading provider of award-winning websites that allow creative professionals to promote and manage their businesses online, has partnered with Rangefinder Publishing to launch the 2010 emerge Photography Competition at the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) conference in Las Vegas from March 8-10.

Celebrating its 30th convention anniversary, WPPI and Rangefinder, its sister media organization, serve the educational and business needs of wedding and portrait photographers, making the convention the ideal setting for the launch of the emerge Photography Competition. Organizers of the competition aim to discover up-and-coming photography talent in the wedding market, and present winners with a platform to gain exposure and launch their businesses.

"Breaking into the wedding photography industry is challenging, especially amid these tough economic conditions," said J Sandifer, wedding development manager at liveBooks. "This competition provides emerging photographers with a high-profile platform where they can showcase their prized photos to key industry players, and ultimately jump start their wedding photography business."

To sign up for the competition, contestants can visit www.emergephotocontest.com, click "Enter" and proceed to the checkout page. Contestants will upload images to five categories -- preparation, details, wedding venue, the kiss and favorite wedding -- and use a maximum of 10 images per wedding for each category. The registration fee is $29 per submission.

After checkout, contestants will be directed to their personal emerge Photography Competition website, which they can populate with their photographs using liveBooks editSuite. Once photos have been uploaded, contestants must finalize their entry by tweeting a link of their emerge Photography Competition website to @emergecontest.

The top three photographers in each category will be awarded a prize package worth $1,400, which includes a one-year subscription to a liveBooks predesigned website, a one-year subscription to a Pictage account, a one-year subscription to a ShootQ account, a 2011 WPPI VIP pass, a Think Tank Photo Belt and a $100 Asuka Book gift card. The top photographer in each category will receive an advertising package from TheKnot.com valued at $1,200, and a professional photography kit from Sony valued at $2,000.

Judging will be conducted by a panel of wedding industry leaders and magazine photo editors, which will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The competition ends May 31, 2010.

The co-sponsors for the competition include Asuka Book, Pictage, ShootQ, LabPrints, Sony, TheKnot.com and Think Tank Photo.
