Living Beyond Breast Cancer Announces Conference Details

Registration Opens Today for Annual Event

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - July 15, 2013) -  Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) Director of Programs and Partnerships Elyse Spatz Caplan, MA, announced today that registration has opened for this nonprofit organization's annual fall conference. News You Can Use: Breast Cancer Updates for Living Well will take place October 26-27, 2013 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Philadelphia, Center City. "A highlight of the conference will be an opening general session presented by Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer," Caplan said. In addition, a second general session with Hollye Jacobs, founder and editor of and a closing session hosted by dietician Suzanne Dixon will also be featured.

The three general session speakers will be joined by some of the country's leading breast cancer experts specializing in treatment and ongoing quality-of-life issues. These experts will host workshops that address topics that include current research discoveries, medical advancements and healthy living strategies for women of all ages diagnosed with all stages and types of breast cancer. Additional highlights include news on genetic testing and family risk, healthful eating tips during and after breast cancer, methods to manage the emotional impact of diagnosis and survivorship, workshops on treatment options for different breast cancer diagnoses and treatment decision planning and information about the effects of breast cancer treatments on fertility and ways to explore different options.
