Living Beyond Breast Cancer Opens National Survey

Study, Open Through Jan. 10, Assesses Unique Information and Support Needs

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - December 03, 2013) - Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) announced it will conduct a national survey to assess the needs of women with the disease. The responses will help shape future LBBC materials and allow the organization to develop targeted programs for unique subsets of breast cancer patients, such as women with triple-negative, hormone-positive and HER2 positive disease. This survey is open to any woman ever diagnosed with any stage of breast cancer. It will be conducted until Friday, January 10, 2014.

"We encourage any woman who has been recently diagnosed, is in treatment, post-treatment, has had a return of breast cancer, or those living with metastatic disease to participate," explained LBBC CEO Jean A. Sachs, MSS, MLSP. "We seek people with diverse experiences," she continued, "and encourage survey participants to help spread the word amongst their peers who may be interested in helping us learn more about their needs."

"Our survey asks for women's views about the information and support available to them, so LBBC can begin to identify and address gaps for people with specific breast cancer diagnoses," said Janine E. Guglielmino, MA, Director of Publications and Strategic Initiatives at LBBC. "Women diagnosed with breast cancer will have a direct impact on the development of future Living Beyond Breast Cancer educational materials and support services to meet their needs and the needs of thousands of similarly affected women."

The survey can be taken online. Every participant who completes the survey, which takes about 30 minutes, will receive a coupon for a free LipDrink SPF 15 lip balm with any $50 purchase from jane iredale -- THE SKINCARE MAKE-UP®. Respondents may also enter a drawing for a chance to win one of four $150 gift cards.

Survey results will also be shared with healthcare providers and other organizations that service diagnosed women. A summary of the findings will be published in 2014 on
