Loan Officers Represented by Nichols Kaster, PLLP File Overtime Case Against Republic Mortgage Home Loans

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - December 9, 2010) - On December 6, 2010, a former employee of Republic Mortgage Home Loans filed suit in Washington federal court seeking unpaid wages under state and federal laws. The Plaintiff alleges that Republic Mortgage misclassified him and other loan officers as exempt from the overtime and minimum wage requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and Washington state law, and as a result, denied them proper compensation. The case is entitled Ahmad Gibson v. Republic Mortgage Home Loans, LLC, No. 3:10-cv-0588, and was filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.

According to the Complaint, Republic Mortgage classified its loan officers as "exempt" from overtime pay until recently when it reclassified them. Plaintiff's attorney Robert L. Schug stated, "My client simply seeks to recover the pay that he and other loan officers were denied as a result of their improper classification." Plaintiffs are represented by Michele Fisher and Robert Schug from Nichols Kaster, PLLP, which has offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota and San Francisco, California.
