Local Trainer From Double S Stables to Participate in National Events

BENTON, TN--(Marketwire - September 8, 2010) -  Local horse clinician Randy Speegle will be participating in two exciting events during the next few months, Project Cowboy and Extreme Mustang Makeover.

Randy will be 1 of only 200 contestants in Project Cowboy, which is a national event held October 8-10, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. Sponsored by the AQHA and Western Horseman, Project Cowboy seeks the individual who best represents the spirit of the Cowboy. The Project Cowboy competition extends to riders from all walks of life and will designate the winner "The Great American Horseman."

The Extreme Mustang Makeover is a challenge to tame and train a Wild Nevada Mustang in only 93 days. Randy is 1 of 55 participants that will pick up his Mustang on July 16, 2010 and will then compete in Murfreesboro, TN October 22 and 23, 2010. The national training competition gives the public an opportunity to see the results of wild horses transformed into trained mounts and experience the beauty and versatility of this rugged breed. The Mustangs are available for adoption at the conclusion of the event in a live auction.

In addition, Randy and others from Double S Stables are competing in the Craig Cameron Extreme Cowboy Races. Participation in these races earns them points to be invited to the World Championship to be held in Topeka, Kansas, November 12-14, 2010.

Double S Stables, located in Benton, is Randy Speegle's training base and provides riders the opportunity to partner with their horse by "working smarter, not harder." Randy has been training horses and their riders for over 20 years locally and offers clinics for novice and seasoned riders. He will have DVDs out in October showing his training techniques for those that cannot attend clinics or just want to have his information at their fingertips. The events he will be participating in during the next few months are exciting additions to his already impressive history of winning several World Grand Championships.
