The Lodge at Woodloch, Destination Spa, Doubles Its Private Land and Allows Outdoor Adventures to Abound This Summer

The Feeling of Luxury Seclusion Just Expanded Providing Over 150 Acres of Private Land, Kicking Off Sizzling New Summer Offerings

HAWLEY, PA--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - This May, The Lodge at Woodloch acquired an additional 76+ acres of private land surrounding the Pocono Mountains spa. This addition is adjacent to the current 75 acres of land and will greatly enhance the Outdoor Adventure opportunities that the destination spa has to offer. This summer, The Lodge will increase their walking path by an additional 1.5 miles and will add a new observation deck overlooking the protected natural wetlands and the native wildlife it has to offer. The new walking path and observation deck are scheduled to be complete by end of June.

"The Lodge at Woodloch prides itself in its natural surroundings and every aspect of the design of the property was intended to bring the outside in. We are committed to ensuring luxurious seclusion for our guests and want to continue to protect our natural surroundings as well as evolve the services and offerings that will continue to shape unique experiences for each of our guests," says Paul Fitzpatrick, managing director of The Lodge. The Lodge has been working at expanding the options for Pocono outdoor adventures for over a year and is excited to provide the new services beginning this June. New outdoor excursions include Kayaking down the Delaware River, Kayak Touring at Shohola Lake and others, a new hike at Cliff Park in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area featuring two waterfalls and a spectacular view of the Delaware River from several vistas. In addition, a new mountain bike ride, The Country Road Ride, a 12 mile trip, is great for novices or guests that prefer a more relaxed terrain. Trail Biking has been re-tooled and various locations in the Delaware State Forest have been added to the offerings. The trail biking adventures are better suited for guests that want a more challenging ride. New kayaks are awaiting use on Little Lake Teedyuskung, the property's private lake for morning, fitness and evening kayaking adventures.

"Our Outdoor Adventures attempt to give our guests a feeling of solitude," explains Bill Deaton, director of outdoor adventures. "The areas we visit are often undeveloped and ecologically diverse. They are off the beaten path and we typically have these areas to ourselves to enjoy."

The summer seasonal spa treatments and menus in Tree have also been created to include fresh items from the Chef's Garden and the new spa Healing Garden. The summer season spa treatments include treatments such as the Healing Herbs Body Polish and Healing Herbs Manicure/Pedicure. Chef Peter Schott has announced new summer menu items featured in Tree such as Socca Pancake with Chilled Ratatouille and Local Goats Cheese or Sea Scallops with Sungold Tomatoes and Arugula.
